A new history would be written down for Agra on Nov 07 to 09′ 2014

The three day long convention would be held at Ambedkar University’s Jubilee Hall

Agra – upcoming on Nov 07 to 09 the three day long convention to take place at Agra is all set to write a golden history of the city and country where 140 blind from the virtual world of Facebook would be meeting here.

Anatardrishti – an organization working for blind people and Blind Star Group are jointly organizing a three day long national convention “Blind Star Beyond Facebook – Bridging the Gap”. The convention would take place at the Golden Jubilee Hall of the Dr B.R. Ambedkar University Agra.

Sangeeta Bhatnagar, President of the organizing committee today addressing a press conference at the Youth Hostel , Sanjay Palace said that this is the first time that such a convention is taking place in the country where blind people whether working in government, non-government or corporate companies would participate. She further informed that convention has a basic motto of connecting the blind people to the mainstream who so far had been fighting with the lack of resource or information.

It is expected that over 140 blind people from various part of the country would take part. These are those blind people who believe that they have connected themselves with the society and now its the time for those blind people who are suffering from lack of resources or information and to help them join the mainstream called society.

The Managing Trustee of Anatardrishti Akhil Srivastava informed that through such event we want to convey a message to the society that the blind people are not just to be pitied upon and don’t want to live just on donations. But they should also be given chance to work like other normal people do and could become a part of our society.

Member of the organizing committee Yogendra Dubey said that this is the first of its kind and this is like an experiment where events like a workshop would take place where the corporate leader and HR Managers would be there to take charge of the event.

Neha Agrawal from Hyderabad would inform about the importance of these blind people in the private sector. Moving ahead on Nov 08 there would be workshop held at the St George Girls Inter College, Agra where the importance of giving chance to the blind children to have a seat with the normal children would be explained helping the blind children get motivated for studies.

Over 20 designer from various part of the country are also taking part in the event who would be discussing upon the role and how to join the blind in the field of designing. Added to that discussions would also take place on job, education, free-life for blind.

What is Blind Stars?

It was on Oct 2012 when a group of people Mohd Khalid, Avinash, Iffat, Mohd Sayad Raza Hasani, Kapil Mittal, who are good friends, created a group in Facebook and gave the name as Blind Stars. The main object behind creating this group was to give these blind people a stage where they could narrate their problems frankly and freely and also could find their solution by discussing things with each other. Now the group is proudly having over 4 thousand members of world over and to successfully handle this group a team of 21 members have been given the task and out of which 20 are blind.
