Golden Light Gallery in New Hope to hold first juried art show | NJ.com

NEW HOPE, Pa. — Without proper eyesight, people may miss out on the growing number of realism- styled paintings in New Hope’s Gold Light Gallery. In its annual juried art show, the 2-year-old gallery is bringing attention to both items: eye health and realist art.

Area artists are invited to submit impressionist, realist, and representational artwork to Gold Light, where jurors Jo-Ann Osnoe and Neilson Carlin will choose winning artworks that will receive cash awards. An additional award, “The Artist Eye Award” will also be given out during the March 7 awards night. The winner of the Artist Eye, chosen by juror Judith Fringuello, will receive $150.

Gallery member and event organizer Lisa Kennedy said, “I just wanted to make artists aware of eye health and them to be aware that Wills Eye Health is there.”

Artists can submit their work at the gallery, located on West Bridge Street, until Feb. 15. Up to two pieces can be entered, with a $20 entry fee and then $10 fee for the next piece.

Over 75 people have entered in the competition already, raising awareness throughout the community about Wills Eye Hospital. “Your eye health affects everybody,” Kennedy said.
