“Kash” Hindi film won the Drishti 2013 Golden Eye award aiming eye donation. The award was declared on Saturday after the end of two day long short film festival organized by Antar Dristi Organization. “Umeed” a film from Pune, directed by Pranay N Makhwane, bagged the Silver Eye award.
The awards were given by Dr Pushpa Shrivastava. The festival ended with glimpses of colourful programmes. Kannad Film “Kari Balaku” of Abhilash Shandliya, Bangalore got the special jury award during the film festival held in the Golden Jubilee Hall of Dr B. R. Ambedkar University, Agra.
In the Audio Jingle section Singhdha Das from Bhilai Chhattisgarh got the Golden Eye Award and Delhi’s Sameera Khurana got the Silver Eye Award, given away by Shilpi of Antardristi. Black Magic Mug of Nalvin Anthony Dsouza of Goa received the Golden Eye Award in Design field, while Bhawani Venkat Raman from Chennai got the SilverEye for T-Shirt Design given away by General Secretary of IPTA Jitendra Raghuvanshi. Sudipta Kundu from Kolkata got the Golden Eye in the Poster Section while Chandrakant Laxman Jadav from Amhednagar Maharastra got the Silver Eye and H Prakash from Tamil Nadu got the Special Jury Award. The awards were given away by Dr Mukul Shrivastava, HOD of Social Work Department of Dr B.R. Ambedkar University, Agra.
Akhil Srivastava, CEO of Antar Dristi Organization praised for the success of the function and appealed to put an end to the myths regarding the eye donation existing in the society. He added saying that this can only be removed only when the family members of the suffering person came forward for this noble work. He informed that around 50 lakh corneal blind are still waiting to get the eye sight back. If the eye donation takes place within 6 hours of death, then surely that donation can bring eye sight back for someone suffering from blindness. He further informed that very soon “Drishti 2014” Creative Contest will be held.
Dr Mukul Shrivastava addressing the gathering same that we should continue with our efforts of eye donation and organizations like Antardristi should come forward for the noble work. Senior Reporter Prashant Tandon anchored the programme informing that very soon “Dristi Yatra” will be organized by Antardrishti.
The two day long Short Film Festival was another step ahead towards creating awareness among people for Eye Donation. He also informed that the organization has planned for starting a special FM Radio Station which will be taken care only by the Blind people.
The cultural programme were presented by Shubra Kirti Gupta, Shubhangi Gupta, Prashant Agrawal, Shreya Diwedi, Urmilla Arya. The artists from IPTA presented “Manto Ki Kahani – Ankhe”.
