Marathi BEd course for visually impaired – The Times of India

NASHIK: The Maharashtra unit of the National Association for the Blind (NAB), jointly with the Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU), will start a BEd course in Marathi from the coming academic year.

The announcement was made during the annual felicitation ceremony of the visually impaired students, teachers and entrepreneurs from across the state in the city on Friday.

NAB state president Rameshwar Kalantri said at present, visually impaired students cannot pursue the course in the regional language as it is only available in English. “Other states like Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh offer the course in regional languages. Books related to the course have now been translated into Marathi. The work has been going on for the past one year and is in completion stage,” Kalantri added.
