Do’s:
- An adult should always supervise the use of fireworks by children.
- Check the area before igniting fireworks to ensure that all inflammable and combustible materials are removed.
- Follow all safety precautions issued with the fireworks.
- Use a candle or an agarbathi to ignite fireworks. They burn without an open flame and provide a greater and safer distance between your hands and the fireworks.
- Keep a fire extinguisher or bucket of water nearby to extinguish any incipient fire.
- Use fireworks only outdoors.
- Wear protective goggles while lighting fireworks to prevent eye injuries.
- Light only one firework at a time.
- Hold lighted sparklers away from the body.
- Flying fireworks – rockets, missiles, etc. – should always be lighted in open grounds pointing straight up.
- Discard used fireworks in a bucket of water.
- Wear close-fitting clothes of thick material instead of loose or flowing garments.
- Consult an opthalmologist immediately in case of eye injuries.
Don’ts:
- Never give fireworks to small children.
- Never ignite fireworks while holding them. Put them down, then ignite them and walk away.
- Do not put fireworks in any container to ignite.
- Never mix anything with the contents of fireworks or make fireworks at home.
- Never use fireworks inside a vehicle.
- Never re-light a firework which has not burnt properly. Wait for 15 to 20 minutes and then soak it in a bucket of water.
- Never throw or point fireworks at other people.
- Never carry fireworks in your pocket.
- Never shoot fireworks in metal or glass containers.
क्या करें :
- पटाखे जलाते वक्त बच्चों के साथ सदैव बड़ों का साथ हो।
- पटाखों में आग लगाने के लिए मोमबत्ती या अगरबत्ती का ही प्रयोग करें ।
- खुले स्थान पर ही पटाखे जलाएं, जैसे घरों की छत, पार्क या किसी मैदान में।
- पटाखे जलाते वक्त आंखों को सुरिक्षत रखने के लिए चश्मे का प्रयोग करें।
- पटाखे जलाते समय एक बडे बर्तन में पानी रखें और एंटीसेप्टिक क्रीम अपने साथ रखें।
- जब भी पटाखे जलाएं, उसे शरीर से दूर रखें।
- रॉकेट जैसे पटाखों को जलाते वक्त उसे हमेशा सीधा रखें। पटाखों को तिरछे या टेढ़ी अवस्था में रखने से हादसों की आशंका हो सकती है।
- जले हुए पटाखों को हमेशा पानी में डाल कर बुझाएं।
क्या नहीं करें :
- पटाखे जलाने के लिए छोटे बच्चों को नहीं दें।
- पटाखों को जलाने के लिए कभी भी मेटल व कांच के बर्तन का प्रयोग नहीं करें।
- जले हुए पटाखों को कभी दूसरों के ऊपर नहीं फेंके।
- पटाखों को पॉकेट में लेकर नहीं घूमें।
- जले हुए पटाखे को हाथ में नहीं पकडें।
- जले हुए पटाखों को दोबारा नहीं जलांएं, उसे अच्छी तरह जलने दें, कम से कम 15 से 20 मिनट तक उसे पूरी तरह से जलने का इंतजार करें।
- गाड़ी के अंदर पटाखे नहीं जलाएं।
- किसी भी पेड़ या तार के ऊपर रखकर पटाखे को ना जलाएं।
